SUNBURN

Sunburn is a skin condition when some parts of skin are
overexposed to UV rays. The prime source of UV rays is sun. Other sources of UV rays include tanning lamps and
welding arcs. Sunburn has an adverse effect on health so it must not be ignored. In severe cases it can even lead
to deaths. Fair skinned people have more chances of developing sunburn.
The topmost layer
of skin releases some chemicals that cause the blood vessels leak some fluid; this fluid cause inflammation,
redness and pain. If skin is not protected the UV rays penetrate deep into the skin thus damages the cells of skin.
The color of skin changes to red within 2-6 hours of being burnt. The burn continues to develop further for next 24
– 72 hours.
