Acne is also common on chest, back, buttocks and shoulders. It is a sign of severe acne condition if the acne lesions are big and painful. In some cases Accutane is the last resort.  

The mild to moderate case of body acne is very well treated with the help of accutane. For more sever case of body acne it is better to try a topical cream that contains Glycolic acid. 

For back acne Benzoyl peroxide is good but it bleaches the fabrics. So while applying Benzoyl peroxide it is better to wear only white.  

The exact cause of body acne is still not known. What is known for sure is that irritation can make it worse. If the certain body part is prone to acne condition then there are chances that there is an external irritant. Purse straps and backpacks aggravate the acne condition. Tight fitted clothes may also be one of the causes. It is absolutely impossible to keep buttocks or back area untouched.
