ACNE ROSACEA
Acne
Rosacea is similar in appearance to Acne Vulguris. Both types are generally
confused.
Rosacea mostly affects the adults over
the age of 30. It looks as a rash of red color that is confined to nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. Redness is
followed by bumps, skin blemishes and pimples. Blood vessels of the skin become more visible. It is more common in
women but is found in men. If left untreated it causes nose swelling and excess tissue growth termed
“rhinophyma”.
Treatment of Rosacea is different from
treating acne and the dermatologist must be consulted if the person is experiencing acne vulguris or acne
Rosacea.
