Topical treatments
Following are the topical treatments that are normally prescribed

topical medicines are retinoids. They work by flaking off the outer skin layer

Oral treatments

antibiotics like tetracycline are prescribed for inflammatory acne. They must be taken daily for three
months but sometimes it also takes 6 months.

contraceptive pills also effectively treat acne of women.

Oral Retinoids are
also effective. These are prescribed for the severe acne cases. There are some serious side
effects of this treatment. So it must only be prescribed under the supervision of
dermatologist.
