ACNE DURING PREGNANCY

Acne inflammation is also caused by the hormonal changes
during pregnancy. If a pregnant woman previously had clear skin still the increase in hormone can cause the
increased production of sebum. This sebum then fills the follicles and cause acne.
There are
different treatment options available in the market. One must take greatest care as most are derived from vitamin A
that cannot be used during pregnancy.
Once the pregnancy
enters the second trimester the level of hormones returns to normal and acne gets cleared up. But still if acne is
causing an anxiety then it is better to consult the doctor.
If acne becomes
serious the doctor may have to prescribe you some antibiotics. Pencillin, amoxicillin and macrolide are safe to use
during pregnancy.
It is best to
consult doctor. There are several face washes that are safe to use during pregnancy. Stay away from a face wash
that contains glycolic acid. Mild soap also helps to clear the acne.
Remember that
during later stages of pregnancy the acne fades away almost magically.
